Bamboo Furniture & Flooring
The furniture made of bamboo possesses an earthy, light feel that is suitable for open areas like balconies, patios and porches. When properly built, it can possess similar structural integrity like many hardwoods, but being regarded as a grass, it is significantly versatile and lighter.
The bamboo stem can be used as a strong wood-like material but has a lightweight feature. When the strips are fastened together, the resulting compound is ideal for buildings, such as scaffolding and pillar. A lot of traditional houses are entirely made of bamboo. It can also be utilized for suspension bridges in most parts of Indonesia.Bamboo as a flooring material is an attractive natural material that generally adds real estate value to a home. Bamboo will be of most appeal to consumers interested in using natural, renewable resources. Unlike trees, which require at least 20 years to mature, a bamboo stalk can be repeatedly harvested every four or five years. Most commercial bamboo comes from plantation-like operations that are farmed responsibly.
Bamboo Household Goods
Bamboo is one of the eco-friendliest plants. It is a super sustainable alternative due to its naturally renewing properties. Bamboo really stand out when compared to other materials, e.g. Anti-bacterial, Odour resistant, Anti-fungal, Hardwearing, Produces 35% more oxygen than similar plants, 100% biodegradable, Regrows to its adult plant size in 3 to 5 years, etc.
A study from Hokkaido University mentions bamboo has a unique combination of toughness and lightness, making it a great alternative for plastic or wood. You can easily replace many items in the home typically made of wood or plastic with bamboo, such as picture frames and dividing screens.
Bamboo also makes for great cutting boards, wooden spoons, and reusable drinking bottles and flatware. Bamboo is sturdier and more environmentally friendly than its plastic competitors, so the material can provide long-lasting tools in the kitchen that don't make you feel guilty.
